First part of European-Ukrainian Energy Day “Energy democracy in Ukraine: personal responsibility”

Due to numerous requests as to the 6th European-Ukrainian Energy Day, on July 9, the European-Ukrainian Energy Agency (EUEA) conducted a companion event highlighted by the topic “Energy Democracy in Ukraine: personal responsibility” at the Centre “Our Kids”.

The participants discussed the transition to energy democracy whereby households can participate in the creation of a new, efficient energy sector. In other words, they revealed the possibility of a personalized approach to the rational choice of energy, principles of energy efficiency and explained the need for personal responsibility for their own consumption of energy.

Speakers at the event were representatives of the following organizations: David Ceschia (EUEA), Grzegorz Gajda (IFC), Serhiy Maslichenko (EBRD), Mykola Savchuk (Gresa Group), Anastasya Skrypnik (Bosch), Dmytro Omelchuk (Herz), Maryna Ilchuk (Arzinger), as well as representatives of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine.

Mariya Henning (SS GPUS) shared expertise in the use of geothermal system unit installed in the Centre “Our Kids”, conducted a tour around the territory of the Centre, showed the geothermal field and heat supply station that supplies the Centre with heat and hot water and do not depend on the season and time of day.
