On March 24-26, the international seminar was held in Kyiv entitled “Street-Based Youth Work: Clarification of Terms, Introduction to the Concept, and Assessment System.”

The seminar participants included domestic and international experts on the rights of children and youth. The principal expert guests were Professor Walther Specht, Chairman of the International Society for Mobile Youth Work (ISMO), and Natasha Zoeller, Chairman of the Charity Organisation “Jugend und Kultur Remseck e.V.”, member of the ISMO Advisory Board in Stuttgart.

The seminar was hosted by the Structural Subdivision of the German-Polish-Ukrainian Society in Ukraine under the German-Ukrainian Project “Mobile Youth Work and Social Environment Analysis Methods.” The event was held in partnership with the German charity organisation Aktion Mensch.

The target audience included social service professionals and members of non-governmental organisations for the protection of the rights of children and youth.

The German-Ukrainian Project “Mobile Youth Work and Social Environment Analysis Methods” is aimed at in-depth analysis of the basic needs of children, youths and families facing vulnerabilities. The Dnipro District of Kyiv was chosen to host the pilot project with a view to developing a Ukraine-specific social work model to be used at district, city, regional, and national levels.
